About Us

The Drama Lab was founded in 1995 by Tony Le Nguyen as a social enterprise with the mission to empower Vietnamese Youth in Melbourne.

Operating under the name ‘AVYM’ or Australian Vietnamese Youth Media, it was established at the well-known Footscray Community Arts Centre in Melbourne, Australia.

As a non-profit organization, The Drama Lab aims to provide Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese young individuals with opportunities to learn, share, create, and express themselves through various mediums such as film, television, theatre, internet, and other creative platforms.

Today, The Drama Lab has expanded its reach and now collaborates with both private and public sectors on a diverse range of Arts-Education-Community initiatives. Its focus is to address significant issues concerning human development, the environment, health, and culture.

Through these initiatives, The Drama Lab creates a wholesome and inclusive creative environment, offering participants valuable and enriching learning experiences through the performing arts.
